Start with an 8” square

Our Blanket Ministry is about 20 years old and has grown to be a vital group.  Blankets are created primarily from leftover balls of wool.  Knitters and others who crochet make 8” squares which they hand in to a coordinator. The squares are organized in a lovely design and then crocheted together to create colourful lap blankets, prayer shawls and single and double blankets for beds. Our blankets are given to anyone who needs them. Our latest project is assisting the chaplain at the Stratford Hospital, as she creates packages for the palliative care patients in our local hospitals including St. Marys, Seaforth and Clinton.  We are also giving single bed blankets to all the young people at Stratford/Perth Shelterlink in Stratford.  The blanket is theirs to keep so they are able to take the blanket with them when they graduate.
